Located just North of Manhattan in the Hudson Valley, Westchester County is the gateway between bucolic and the bustling. It was established in 1683 and named after the city of Chester in the UK and over the centuries has grown to include over 1 million residents. Today the county holds the headquarters for many of the worlds Fortune 500 companies as well as bundles of cultural and recreation sites that service the tri-state area.  

Ironbound, Newark, NJ

Named for the rail tracks, that surrounded the neighborhood, the Ironbound is also called the “Down Neck” because of its site on a bend of the Passaic River. In the Early 20th century, Portuguese and Spaniard immigrants flocked to this neighborhood. Today, two thirds of the Ironbound’s 50,000 residents were born outside of the United States. The Ironbound is bustling neighborhood with over 200 restaurants and bars. At every point in the North Ironbound, you are a 15 minute walk to the train station, and 10 minute drive to Liberty International.

East Orange, NJ

Was originally considered part of the city of Newark and even was referred to as the “Newark Mountains” but has grown into its own as “The Crossroads of New Jersey” being conveniently located between the Garden State Parkway and I-280. It’s currently home to a diverse grouping of immigrant suburban and urban dwellers coming from all parts of the world and is most notably known for its Caribbean and Southern cuisine.

Stamford, CT

Is the 2nd biggest city in Connecticut having the best access into Manhattan, direct train lines running all day to Grand Central Station. The area encompasses both water and mountains with 19 miles of shoreline and beautiful hiking and scenic trails north of Downtown. As of 2019, it is home to nine Fortune 500 companies and is considered the largest financial district outside of New York City.
